So, while the Autumn colours have all been turning orange - here at Sygma we have been shining a light on doing our bit for the planet and reviewing how we can become greener. The autumn is always a good time to take stock and review and we decided to place a spotlight on our green credentials. Operating ethically and taking notice of our environmental impact is becoming increasingly important and here at Sygma, we also understand how important this is to our customers too.
We have for a number of years, wherever possible utilised hybrid car technology but in September we took delivery of our first all-electric car, a Tesla - Model 3, reducing our vehicle carbon emissions even further. As the UK charge point infrastructure becomes more comprehensive we would hope that over the coming months we can expand to an all electric vehicle fleet.
We have also set up a recycling station in the office, as it's one of the simplest ways we can limit our environmental impact. We now have lots of visible recycling bins in our workplace and kitchen area to encourage the team. In addition, we opt for a green delivery shop for the weekly office shop!
On a wider business scale we endeavour only to use electronic security suppliers who treat sustainability as a natural part of their operations and takes long-term responsibility in minimising the environmental impact of their products. An example of this is Axis Communications, where we are Gold Partners. Each year from 2010 Axis have produced an annual sustainability report that highlights their work for that year and the new strides they are taking. Axis cover all the bases and it's great to see that they even think of the little things, such as giving all permanent employees at its Lund headquarters a bicycle - a nice touch.
In September 20 members of the Sygma team underwent Emergency First Aid at Work training with Bartram Training (an excellent local training provider). Our new training room was a great space to practice this essential life skill and these sessions are a great way to bond the team.
With the holiday season now at an end we have managed to compile lots of photos of the Sygma logo around the world as our team visit faraway places - check out our Instagram photos for the latest!
Business as we head into the winter months continues to be robust with Security securing a service and maintenance contract for 27 more police stations. This has also coincided with all of our engineers achieving enhanced vetting status, putting us in an ideal situation as we continue to expand our police and government portfolio. Our new Fire business has also proven to be popular and is continuing to increase it's customer base in all areas of fire protection from fire alarms to fire doors - where we have recently secured an order to replace 200 doors for an animal health trust campus.
October saw our compliance team hard at work and we are proud to announce that we passed our SSAIB Annual Audit and that we have retained our accreditations with Safe Contractor, CHAS, Builders Profile and a new accreditation with Avetta.
The autumn has seen continued training on our software system from Mentor for the team on CASH and making excellent progress in improving systems to make us even more efficient and provide the very best service to our customers.
Finally in line with our commitment to support local charities and projects we are very proud to have supported The Three Horseshoes Community Pub in Helions Bumpstead with a security system and also to renew our annual donation for a charitable cycle ride around Essex Churches in aid of the church restoration fund.
