Hooking your home up with CCTV (Part Two)
Being sure that you want to kit your home out with a CCTV system is the first step but you also have to then take into consideration how you want the images to be stored and looked at. Due to the advancements that have been made it is possible to have it set up so that you are alerted to anything that seems untoward. This can mean a text message or photo being delivered to your mobile phone as soon as the system finds anything out of the ordinary going on and it could prove pivotal in preventing a crime.
Alternatively, you could have a room in your property that has devices which the images are sent to. Depending on the budget you have and your personal circumstances you might choose to have the CCTV linked to a separate place and this is a very suitable option if you spend a significant amount of time away from your home.
If you have gone to the effort of having CCTV set up on your premises then it makes perfect sense to ensure that all areas are taken care of. Pan/tilt/zoom cameras are particularly useful at moving around and monitoring your home but it might also be a good idea to have some fixed ones to back them up.
